A dedicated leadership team works collaboratively to advance the organization’s vision and mission.
Issa shapes the organization’s mission, reviews results and develops strategies to address the challenges of the West African community. He is also a co-founder.
Aminata oversees the daily operations and manages the human resources. She aligns our services to support the organization’s mission.
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Mamadou is in charge of the organization’s financial and strategic planning as well as record keeping. He develops fundraising projects to support the services and programs provided.
DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF FINANCE
Mahamadou oversees budgets, accounting and purchases. He assists the Director of Finance in all financial decision making.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION
Djeneba oversees the internal and external communications. She is responsible for record keeping, the content of the organization’s website and social media pages.
DIRECTOR OF WOMEN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS
Peinda designs educational programs for the women and youth in the community and implements strategies to advance the organization’s mission. She is also one of our amazing ESL teachers.
DIRECTOR OF EVENT PLANNING AND COORDINATION
Binta helps plan the organization’s events from conception to completion. She coordinates every facet to ensure quality and guarantee satisfaction for our guests.
DIRECTOR OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS
Gora creates and develops art and cultural projects to promote West African heritage and history. He designs educational and cultural experiences to strengthen the relationship between West Africans and the community they live in.
DIRECTOR OF THE ELDERS
Mamadou is the liaison between the organization and the elders. He plays the role of the mediator in conflict resolution matters whenever needed.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND COORDINATION
Abel is in charge of social networking with community leaders and marketing our services and programs. He manages the relationship between the organization and all the sixteen (16) West African countries that it represents.
Souleymane designs and maintains the website. He ensures the organization is technologically efficient and effective at all times.
ADVISORS: Ousmane Diop, Ibrahim Diallo, Kouadjo Akleboue and Sadou Diallo.
The team meets twice a month to ensure that all of our programs and projects are working.
Fun Fact: All of all leaders speak a minimum of 3 languages and have native and/or professional fluency in English, French, Wolof and Bambara (also known as Mandingo or Dioula). Counting African dialects, we speak 15 languages.
